On the Move!
Well it has been a busy ride so far and now it is getting more exciting. On June 11th my wife and I both graduated from Eastern Washington University and soon after we packed a 26 foot Penske truck an today we are in Owings Mills, MD visiting family and taking a short breather prior to commencing onto our next leg of our move.
The trip began with a long drive from Spokane, WA to Billings, MT where we stayed at a KOA (Kampgrounds of America). Rachel's first experience in camping. From Billings we then traversed through the rest of montana and into Wyoming and then into Rapid City, SD. On day 3 we took a 3 hour detour to Mount Rushmore and see the wondrous granite sculpture. From Rushmore we then stayed over in Sioux Falls, SD. From Sioux Falls to Davenport, IA. In Davenport we stopped by to see the campus and found it, in my own opinion not as beautiful as Florida's campus and I am not one with a lot of people in my cohort. From Davenport we then traveled to Cleveland, OH with no A/C because the sensors in the A/C went bad. After our visit with Bubbie we then traveled to Owings Mills. Tomorrow we then depart for Charleston, SC and then onto Port Orange, FL where our next adventure begins...Looking for a home and starting school

The pains of buying a home
Well life as we know it is continuing on. It has been so long since the last time I wrote. The last time was more than 3 months. It is now the end of may and my wife and I will be walking the Red "Carpet" turf field of Eastern Washington University on June 11. We will then finalize packing our apartment up and begin our 3500 mile journey to Central Florida where I will begin my career as a chiropractor. I have moved up my beginning date from January 2012 to this July. I am excited and very anxious to begin. This is a huge step for me and my dreams. The road to this point has not been a smooth ride as all would hope it would be to fulfill their dreams and the fulfillment of mine is yet to come.
What is even scarier than moving to Florida is that we do not have a place to move into yet. During spring break, Rachel and I went to Charleston, SC for one of her friends weddings and soon after that we spent two, very long, days looking at houses in the Port Orange area. We have settled on a residential area called Coquina Cove and have an offer in for a house. What I have a hard time understanding is that if the house is a "Short Sale," then why does it take the banks 30 days to 6 months to approve the sale if the buyer (us) and the seller both agree to the terms of the sale. I do understand that the bank needs to approve the sale price. Because the bank is probably loosing money out of the whole deal. But if the seller already agreed that they would have to pick up the difference then why such a long wait. I mean, it has been well over a month now since we have put the offer on the table and all we would like is to be able to close by the end of June.
I have already rented a moving truck, car dolly and an automotive transport for my pick-up. Most of the logistics have already been put into place and well I guess it will be back to living out of our vehicles until we can secure a home for us. Granted my wife and I have already spent or will spend up to $5000.00 in moving expenses, then we are going to be putting 20% of selling price down for the house. Is this what it is like to graduate from college and try and begin a family..
So where do we go from here. Well, I am going to look at accomplishing what I need to get done for today and worry about tomorrow when tomorrow comes. Cheers!
